Why men can drink soy lattes
Today a customer made the wrong nerd curious.
A friend of mine looks into whether men should drink soy milk.
Starting Coffee
Growing up, my parents would drink coffee almost every morning. One of the most distinct memories I have of my childhood is the smell of fresh ground coffee when I woke up. This probably lead me to avoid drinking coffee far longer than I would have — the taste of coffee simply could not compare to the smell of it. As a kid, attempting to emulate my parents and drink coffee black or with a bit of milk in it was unsatisfying and put me off coffee for a long time.

As a university student, I found that a need for energy at the worst of hours of the day brought me back to coffee, primarily in the form of the mocha as well as the Tim Hortons iced cappuccino, a beverage with a sugar to coffee ratio so extreme that I expect its caffeine content is negligible. I eventually lost my taste for such sugary concoctions, and my interest turned towards espresso-based drinks.
So that’s where I am. I am enthusiastic about coffee, but not particularly knowledgable. I’m trying to learn more about it, and write about the process. I guess we’ll see how that goes.
